Oates Hay baled on the 2nd of November. Large square bales, 6 string. Nice even shaped bales. Stacked in paddock. Ideal curing conditions, no significant rain events during the curing period. A little bit of barley and brome visible in the odd bale end. Good colour and texture. Fresh hay aroma.

About 25-30mm of rain on windrow took the colour out but still showing a lot of green. Normal to soft handling texture with a nice aroma. Bale Shield inoculant was used. Heavy bales of oats with at least 50% brome grass. Mostly the brome was cut before seed was developed but there is some more mature stems. Has avoided black spotting and retained a little color. Average moisture is 14.9 %. Hayguard was applied at baling. Percentage of brome and oats mix varies across the lot.

Scepter Wheaton hay shedded straight after baling into good secure shed with all weather access. Heavy 8 string bales. Dodged a lot of the seasons wet curing weather but still endured 20 mm rain which has caused some black spotting. Sun has bleached most of the green colour. Has a dry texture but has a fair aroma. Milky dough seed very evident. Silac was used.
