Oaten hay baled on 1st of November. Moisture around 12% mostly. No high moistures. Fresh hay aroma, soft texture and nice green colour. Leaf retention is also great. No weeds present. Baled and stacked within same day. Baled with an 8 string Krone baler. Heavy bales averaging about 800-850kg.

Titan Barley Hay

2025 Oaten Hay baled on the 17th of October. Average bale weight of 700kg. The variety is Kingbale and they are 8x4x3 and 8 string bales. Cut when heads formed and before milky dough with a mower conditioner. Ideal curing conditions. Average moisture 13.7%. Lowest was 10.7% and highest 23.2%. There were 5 high readings including the highest reading which all read around 22%. Majority of bales read consistently around 11-12% apart from those odd higher readings. Normal to soft in texture. Excellent leaf retention and head retention. Excellent green colour. Only sunbleached on outside of bales. Sweet and fresh hay aroma. Great access to storage from road for trucks.

This hay presents as a well rounded lot with great colour retention and sweet smell. Solid bales with tight moisture range between 9.6% and 11.1%. Average bale weight 10.5%.

2025 Vetch Hay baled on the 1st November. Light rain event during curing period. Dried out quick. Average bale weight 730kg. Cut using a mower conditioner. Large square bales 8x4x3 and 8 string. Average moisture 12.8%. Lowest moisture was 10.8% and highest was 16%. Stem length in bale ranging from 7-10cm. Soft to normal texture and good leaf retention. May become detached when disturbed. Good green colour. Not much sunbleaching. Fresh and sweet hay aroma. Great access for trucks.

Wheaten hay, baled on 11/10/25. Ideal curing conditions. Good colour and aroma. Normal texture. Moisture ranging from 10-14% mostly. Even bales and ends. Some rye in bales about 5-10%. Cut when ryegrass wasn’t mature and any seeds will not be viable

Large square bales oaten/ vetch hay. Oats definitely look the dominant species in the bale but when you pull it apart you can see the vetch leaf in among it. 65% oats at a guess. Good leaf/ no rain. Good colour and aroma. Stored in lined floor shed. Average moisture 13.3%.

2025 Barley hay baled on the 7th February. Average bale weight of 750kg. Large 8x4x3 6 string square bales. Paddock stacked and currently being transported to Avoca where it will be shedded. Cut with both a mower conditioner and wind rower. Raked twice. Ideal curing conditions. Average moisture of 11.8%. Lowest was 10% and highest 14.3%. Fairly consistent readings of around 12%. Great leaf and head retention. Soft to normal in texture. Sunbleached and weather stains on outer side of bales. Fresh green colour inside the bale. Normal hay smell. Slightly sweet. Good access to current location for trucks.

2025 barley straw

2025 Barley Hay baled on the 10th November. Not an ideal curing period due to having two rain events. Average bale weight 730kg. Baled with an 8 string Krone baler. Average moisture 13.8%. Highest moisture reading was 17.9%. Very soft in texture and great leaf retention. Good green colour. Some sunbleached stems and water marks on grab sample due to non ideal curing period. Slightly sweet and fresh hay aroma. Excellent storage and good access to road for trucks.

2025 Vetch Hay baled on the 28th of October. Average bale weight 650kg. 6 strings. Conditioned when cut. It had about 6mm in two separate rainfall events but no damage on bales from that. Average moisture of 12.4%. Even and consistent readings of about 12%. Lowest moisture was 10.1% and highest was 14.2%. Normal in texture. Leaf retention is good however leaf may become detached when disturbed. Nice dark green colour. Not too sunbleached. Fresh sweet hay aroma. Great storage and access to the road for trucks.
