An excellent stack of barley hay prepared in ideal conditions without rain and well stored in a new shed. The whole operation only took 8 days so colour, leaf retention etc is all very good. Moisture content is very even averaging 10.3%

2025 Oaten Hay baled on the 26th of October. Average bale weight is 680kg. Baled with an 8 string Krone baler. Mix of Kingbale and Archer oats. Conditioned when cut. Ideal curing conditions. No rain. Average moisture of 11.4%. Lowest was 9.2% and highest was 14.3%. Very even and consistent moisture readings. Soft in texture. Excellent leaf and head retention. Excellent green colour. Not much sunbleaching. Great storage and access for trucks.

2025 vetch hay baled on 10th November. Average bale weight 680kg. Baled with an 8 string Krone baler. Conditioned when cut. Ideal curing conditions. No rain events. Vetch is a mix of Morava and Benetas. Average moisture is 12%. Lowest was 9.8% and highest was 15.7%. Majority consistently even moisture readings between 11-12%. Normal texture. Leaf retention is great. Leaf may become detached when disturbed. Nice green colour. Outside of bales are sunbleached. Sweet and fresh hay aroma. Great storage and access for trucks.

2025 Oaten Hay baled on the 17th of October. Average bale weight of 700kg. The variety is Kingbale and they are 8x4x3 and 8 string bales. Cut when heads formed and before milky dough with a mower conditioner. Ideal curing conditions. Average moisture 13.7%. Lowest was 10.7% and highest 23.2%. There were 5 high readings including the highest reading which all read around 22%. Majority of bales read consistently around 11-12% apart from those odd higher readings. Normal to soft in texture. Excellent leaf retention and head retention. Excellent green colour. Only sunbleached on outside of bales. Sweet and fresh hay aroma. Great access to storage from road for trucks.

2025 Vetch Hay baled on the 28th of October. Average bale weight 650kg. 6 strings. Conditioned when cut. It had about 6mm in two separate rainfall events but no damage on bales from that. Average moisture of 12.4%. Even and consistent readings of about 12%. Lowest moisture was 10.1% and highest was 14.2%. Normal in texture. Leaf retention is good however leaf may become detached when disturbed. Nice dark green colour. Not too sunbleached. Fresh sweet hay aroma. Great storage and access to the road for trucks.
