2025 Oaten hay baled on the 8th of November. Average bale weights 650kg. Large square 8x4x3. Cut using a mower conditioner and stored the same day. Baled with an 8 string Krone baler. Average moisture 12.2% and consistently read between 11-12%. No high readings. About 10% black spot or staining on some of the bales. Fairly even stem length ranging from 15-17cm. Very soft in texture and good green colour. Not much sun bleaching. Fresh sweet hay aroma. Stored in an excellent shed with great access to the road for trucks.

2025 Oaten Hay baled on the 17th of October. Average bale weight of 700kg. The variety is Kingbale and they are 8x4x3 and 8 string bales. Cut when heads formed and before milky dough with a mower conditioner. Ideal curing conditions. Average moisture 13.7%. Lowest was 10.7% and highest 23.2%. There were 5 high readings including the highest reading which all read around 22%. Majority of bales read consistently around 11-12% apart from those odd higher readings. Normal to soft in texture. Excellent leaf retention and head retention. Excellent green colour. Only sunbleached on outside of bales. Sweet and fresh hay aroma. Great access to storage from road for trucks.

2025 Vetch Hay baled on the 1st November. Light rain event during curing period. Dried out quick. Average bale weight 730kg. Cut using a mower conditioner. Large square bales 8x4x3 and 8 string. Average moisture 12.8%. Lowest moisture was 10.8% and highest was 16%. Stem length in bale ranging from 7-10cm. Soft to normal texture and good leaf retention. May become detached when disturbed. Good green colour. Not much sunbleaching. Fresh and sweet hay aroma. Great access for trucks.

Large square bales oaten/ vetch hay. Oats definitely look the dominant species in the bale but when you pull it apart you can see the vetch leaf in among it. 65% oats at a guess. Good leaf/ no rain. Good colour and aroma. Stored in lined floor shed. Average moisture 13.3%.

Fresh and sweet hay aroma. Good green colour and soft to normal texture. Stored in a great shed with good access to the road and shed for trucks. There is a slight amount of staining on some the bales. Mainly on the front facing bales in shed.
