New season Wheaten Hay

2025 Wheaten Hay baled on the 22nd of November. A few days of baling. Average bale weight is 650kg and there is a combination of 6 string and 8 string bales. Cooler curing periods and light showers have left some staining on bales but less than 5% damage. About 5-10% of ryegrass in paddock. Some bales may show more rye in than others. Any seeds won’t be viable due to cutting prior to maturity. It was conditioned when cut. Average moisture of 12.1%. Lowest was 10% and highest was 19.1%. Fairy even and consistent moisture readings. Two or three readings were 14% and 15%. Soft in texture. Excellent leaf and head retention. Nice green colour. Not much sunbleaching on the inside of bale. Sunbleaching on outside of bales. Some stains from poorer curing conditions as well. Sweet and fresh hay aroma. Great storage and access to the road for trucks.
