400 ha barley planted for hay production. Crop following vetch from previous crop. Planted end May on full profile of moisture with 200mm rain in crop. Had spray for broadleaf weeks and fungicide application mid July. cut with mower conditioner and at flowering. Baled after 24 days of good curing conditions with one raking into 8x4x3 bales. Good average bale moistures. Normal to soft in texture with good leaf and stem colour.
