Oaten hay baled on the 1st of November 2025. Ideal curing conditions. No rain. Baled with an 8 string Krone baler. Bale weights average 715kg. Good green colour with not much sun bleaching. Soft texture and good leaf retention. Moisture readings averaged 12.3% with mist reading between 11-12%. Very consistent readings. One bale read 17.3%. Fresh and sweet hay aroma. Nice evenly shaped bales. Good shed and easily accessible to road.

The BaleTime Hay Monitor is a practical tool designed to help farmers know exactly when it’s time to bale. It uses two humidity sensors to measure conditions at the top and bottom of the windrow, giving a clear picture of what’s really happening in the paddock. Instead of relying on guesswork, farmers receive real-time notifications when conditions hit the right mark. The monitor is simple to use, built tough for farm use, and powered by a long-lasting battery. A new beta version includes optional cloud connectivity, giving farmers the chance to experiment with humidity charts and early-stage prediction features — tools still being refined based on farmer feedback. Developed with direct input from the field, BaleTime helps reduce risk, save time, and make better decisions during hay season.
