Wets and cleans the spindles as they rotate past the moisture column so seed cotton releases cleanly at the doffer. Glazed, hardened or missing pads let gum and plant sugars build on the barbs, which drops picking efficiency and puts extra load on the doffer. Change pads as a full column set, not individually.
