2026 season Vetch Hay
2026 Vetch hay baled on 3rd of October with 5 and 6 string balers. Hay is paddock stacked and has hay caps. Average bale weights 600kg. Cut with a mower conditioner. Had a a total of 23mm of rain during the curing period. Moisture readings mostly 11-12%. Few readings around 16-17%. One higher reading of 20.7%. Stem length ranging from 7-12cm. Good leaf retention in the bale. When taking grab sample, leaf does fall off stem. Normal to slightly dry in texture. Nice green colour on inside of bale. Exterior is sunbleached. Can see that though out the sample. Normal, sweet hay aroma. Good access to hay from road.
